Vehicle Information

Need to update the vehicle information, simple steps to ensure the vehicle information is current and accurate

Updating Vehicle Information is included in all plans

Steps

In order to update the vehicle information, you'll need to navigate to the vehicle details page, aka VDP. You can read more about the VDP here.

Current supported fields that can be updated for a vehicle include the following; trim, odometer, VIN, transmission, color, Drive Train, engine, fuel, body style, year, make and model.

Start by identifying the specific vehicle data fields that need updating

  1. Click Update in the Vehicle Info section on the VDP
  2. Some fields are open ended inputs, like Trim and VIN, and other are fixed and you will have to select among the options
  3. Click on Save

In case you need another Make, Model or Trim option, please contact your Acquisition Coach over email or using the Contact Us form at the bottom of the user profile menu.

Plate to VIN - This feature will get you the vehicle's VIN from its plate information. Learn more here.  

Integrations - In case the client use some integrations like Carfax or AutoCheck, a History Report from the active integration will be displayed in the first line of the section.

Best Practices summary

  • When integrating a listing in vAuto, keeping this information up to date increases the accuracy of vAuto - Appraisal module
  • When you see "other" instead of the appropriate value, don't hesitate in updating it accordingly, and even asking to confirm with the seller
